Mehmood H. Syed

CEO, President
Mr. Syed has over 25 years of experience and considered an expert in consumer related industries, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, import/exports, convenience stores, petroleum and restaurants. Mr. Syed is the founder of Syed Brokerage & Capital Co. As CEO, and Global Head of Mergers & Acquisition Group, he is responsible for the overall management of the firm. Mr. Syed is accredited and Certified Merger & Acquisitions Advisor and is considered a proficient in the industry. Mr. Syed has demonstrated proven success in delivering high profits for his clients through targeted and innovative strategies. He has advised clients for over 25 years in broad range of markets including M&A transactions, asset management, and business investments. He helps develop and formulate M&A strategies, identify, screen and initiate discussions with potential acquisition targets for clients, and structure and negotiate transactions and finally arrange acquisition financing. Mr. Syed’s unique business strategies has helped various clients to improve their financial and operational performance, enhance product and customer profitability, and achieve optimizing capital structure through new financing and/or restructuring of existing indebtedness. Mr. Syed serves as director on advisory boards, for multiple privately held companies and private investment groups Prior to Syed Brokerage and Capital, Mr. Syed had served as the CEO of Syed Real Estate Company. He delivered outstanding achievements by managing various real estate portfolios, including multifamily rental communities, shopping centers and senior citizen housing complex. He enhanced the revenues of AUM by greater than 350%, as well as delivering more than 1000% ROI for the investment partners. Mr. Syed was awarded State of Illinois Business-Person of the Year 2002, by RNC. He was also honored with the Best Commercial Consultancy – USA Award 2014 and Most Trusted Business Broker – USA 2015 and Sustained Excellence in Commercial Consultancy – USA 2015 Mr. Syed holds an advanced Marketing Management Diploma, from Cyprus Institute of Marketing. Mr. Syed has studied Bachelor of Science (BSc), in Marketing and Business Administration at University of Illinois at Chicago, with high honors. He is a member of AM&AA (Alliance of M&A Advisors), M&A Source and International Association of Business Brokers. He holds Commercial Real Estate Broker License since 1992. Also holds an advanced certification a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA).

Common sense approach to problem resolution, enthusiasm, concise communication, unwavering integrity and a tenacious belief that people are an organization’s most important asset. He is Chair the Board of Directors of Royal Buying Group, Inc., $500 million+ member organization of convenience store chains, gas stations and truck stops with divisions in three countries and 50 employees. He is providing management oversight and strategic vision maximizing long-term shareholder value. He previously was an operator of ten BP-branded gasoline stations, convenience stores and carwashes in the Chicago market with over $150 million in sales revenue, with 120-person team and a $6 million expense profile. Which won numerous awards from BP for excellence in management, customer service, sales, profit and image.

Mr. Michael Zielinski has over thirty-eight years’ experience in the convenience store, petroleum, and automotive industries. He has owned and operated multiple retail locations involving Continental Oil Company, Marathon Oil Company, Amoco Oil Company, and Shell Oil Products US. Mr. Zielinski’s operations included petroleum locations, convenience store locations, towing services, auto repair, body shops, detail shops, car washes, and rent-a-car operations. His extensive representation of fellow marketers includes election as the Shell National Dealer Council Chairman in 1995, participation on the dealer councils of Amoco (1988-1991) and Shell (1992-1998), participation on Shell’s ETD Dealer panel (1994-1998), and a participant in the re-He is a member of the National Association of Convenience Stores, the National Convenience Store Advisory Group, the California Service Station Automotive Repair Association, the Illinois Petroleum Marketers Association, the Texas Petroleum and Convenience Store Association, the Mississippi Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores Association, the New York Association of Convenience Stores, the Service Station Dealers of America-Allied Trades, the National Association of Shell Marketers, and the BPAMA. Mr. Zielinski is one of the original founders of Royal Buying Group, Inc. (RBG), a national merchandising and marketing organization representing wholesaler and retailer locations of all brands of convenience stores, petroleum suppliers, college bookstores, and independent pharmacies. RBG represents Shell Oil Products US, TESORO, Sinclair, Irving Oil, Gulf Oil, Getty Petroleum Marketing, LUK Oil, NATSO, NASM, AACSA, Pace Alliance, and Connect-2-One with merchandising and marketing services provided for their retail locations. He attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
Samim Amini, Associate Director

Samim Amini

Mr. Amini has an extensive knowledge in the financial investments industry. He provides sophisticated strategies and solutions in financial restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, as well as project consulting and valuation opinions. Mr. Amini brings over years of experience to Syed Brokerage & Capital from various industries such as Finance, Retail, Wholesale, Hospitality, and Security. Mr. Amini joined the firm in 2015. Prior to that he managed the portfolio assets of Arete Investments. Mr. Amini adds color to the diversity of the brokers at the Syed Brokerage & Capital. He brings multicultural experience to the company, by having lived in 7 countries including: Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan. He speaks several languages fluently, including Russian, Persian, Farsi, Urdu and Hindi. Mr. Amini received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Management and Administration from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management.
